Her "quivering" jaw is called "gospel jaw." it happens in vibrato. Some say it's bad technique that can hurt your voice, but damaged voice or not, no one can sing like Ms. Houston did and no one ever will.

Doesn't have to quiver. But the "lip quivering" is as a result of her vibrato not a Whitney mechanism because she's not the only singer that does it. Not everyone does it but some people do.

@skrason ... No, actually clive davis brought on some equipment the prior day so he could record it with studio equipment and sell and release. And it sold 1mill copies, if u check out the live version from "welcome home heros" u can see similarities .. What she lipped that to..? U must have a degree out of a cracker jack box
