Dear! You may compare the word "Anoush" with Anoushka but the word Aram and Akram may not be compared with same meanings as Aram, (the third day of the month in the Armenian calendar) but Akram is a arabic derived word from KARAM which means respect. Moreover, Rafi is also a arabic derived word from RAFA which means "to raise up"

I am a big Fan of Rafi but he sounds pathetic compared to Noorjehan on this one.

i am armenian.rafi is an armenian name. my mothers name is anoush wich is like anoushka shankar and my friend aram name is almost the same as the indian name akram. when i go to church i have noticed that the modes and scale though less exotic sounding are like indian ragas but more western.when i go to greek festivals its obvious that the greeks brought back music from india and surrounding countries.i believe the western/christian world owes india/eastern world ALOT. GREAT VID,THANX

That is one line from that song that grabs you right away. Right? I was pleasantly surprized to know that it was borrowed from Ghalib. Thanks again. You have a nice collection of Ghazals. Its feels good to listen to original ghazals with fine audio quality.

Yes, very perceptive of you to know the "misra" of ghalib's ghazal. I have seen Gulzar in the interview acknowledging that he borrowed the misra from Ghalib.

So this is where Dil Dhoontha hai's "Baithey rahe tasasur-e- jaanan kiayehuey" came from!
