its not expensive compared to many places.... gas for instance is FAR more expensive in Japan - and western europe than US... its just that when you see an increase you think its ridiculous ....And yes the US produces far more food than it needs.... a food surplus...something the US makes quite a bit of money on exporting

Don't under estimate yourself, your people (whichever, but I am assuming Tibetian based on your comment), or Tibetian Buddism. I agree it is a great balance and that there is no perfection/absolute in anything. It is often that impurity that makes something precious to someone.
