You can do any move they teach in any martial art but that does not mean its affective.Joe Rogan is a taekwondo champion and as soon as he sparred with other martial artist such as boxers,kickboxers he found out that taekwondo put to much enthusiasm on kicking and not enough on punching ect.

I'm a first degree in TaeKwon-Do and I saw a couple of things that I actually use in my training. But, this is mostly for show. He does have the ability to use his skills in a fighting situation, but it's a waste of energy to be doing the flips and kicks that he used here.
