its ironic, because not only did bill hicks try to tell the truth as he saw it, but he was censored on US television because of his views, the only material aired was the stuff that met the media's criteria, his career picked up in countries outside of the US because of this. there is a documentary on him on my channel, near the bottom of my playlists if you are interested. he was more than just a comedian, ahead of the generation that couldn't take him seriously.
