Wow, what an old memory! I had the book as a little kid. This must be where my love for cars started, and the strong urge to restore old cars. Always loved the cool roadster she becomes. As a little boy, this was my favorite cartoon. 55 years old now. Funny what you remember.

Sounds like "One Cab's Family" by MGM, 1952, fortunately the kid survived.
Also there was MGM's "Little Johnny Jet", 1953, with a baby airplane.
Warners also had "Streamlined Greta Green" 1937, about a naughty little boy-car who kept playing chicken with a train, with interesting results.

when did Susie move to Radiator Springs?
Apr 20, 2012 AlysonKeyla Says:
Never liked Sally much. She hardly had any role save from serving as Mcqueen's "love interest". Still better characterized than Toy Story's Bopeep, but not much. She barely even made it to Cars 2, and like Bopeep will probably just completely disappear come Cars 3 (if it does happen). I like the idea of an aged, past his prime Lightning hooking up with an older gal who can truly relate. I'll admit it would probably work better with Doc, but I doubt we'll ever see him again...
