There's a video up on Youtube which I makes a great supplement to this Carlin video where he explains why he is a non-voter. It does a great job of teaching of how just not voting alone isn't powerful unless you supplement it with additional methods of non-cooperation. A lot of the ideas I'm sharing are actually from him and that video. So check him out. End of shameless promotion.

Anyway, back on topic, you do make a good point about not voting for the lesser of two evils and voting for other parties. I actually voted for Gary Johnson of the Libertarian party this year. I know that he won't win because too many Americans are stuck in a two party paradigm, but god it feels good knowing I for actual tried to vote for real change.

Again you're missing the point. If you just don't vote at all then the system will not care. Like I said, if you just don't vote the leaders in charge will simply shrug and say "fuck 'em. They don't want to vote we'll just pick out our own people right in front of them." If you want to send a message then you have to do more than just not vote. Because if not voting worked then why isn't the government pushing to make it compulsory like in other countries like Australia?
